Pebble Dash Chippings and Render Aggregate

Dry dash aggregate is judged on the finished wall, not the bag. Uneven grading shows up as patchy coverage, and fines dull the whole elevation — so the specification is tighter than it looks.

  • Closely graded 4–8 mm and 6–10 mm bands
  • Washed and dried, low fines
  • White, buff, grey and mixed spar blends
  • Bagged for site handling on pallets

Grading controls the finish

Dash aggregate needs a tight size band so the throw covers evenly and every stone beds into the render at the same depth. A wide band leaves large stones proud and small ones buried, which reads as patchiness from the street.

Why fines have to be washed out

Dust coats the stone and prevents it bonding into the wet render, so it drops off in the first year and leaves bald patches. Washed and dried aggregate sticks on first throw and reduces wastage on site.

Colour options and blends

White spar, buff, grey and mixed blends are the standard palette. Blends are mixed to a fixed recipe and held as a reference so a later repair or extension matches the original elevation.

Coverage and wastage on site

Coverage runs roughly 12–18 kg per square metre depending on stone size and throw technique, plus 10–15% wastage for rebound. Ordering to that figure prevents a mid-job shortfall and a mismatched second batch.

Matching an existing wall

Repairs fail visually more often than structurally. Send a photograph and a small sample chipped from the existing wall and we match size and colour blend against current production before quoting.

Packing for site use

25 kg bags on shrink-wrapped pallets are the practical format for site handling. Bulk bags are available where a contractor is dashing a full development and has mechanical handling.
