What makes crystal pebbles different
Crystal pebbles are white quartz, which has a slight translucency at the edges. This catches light differently from opaque white marble or limestone, giving a brighter, more luminous appearance in water and under display lighting.
Finish options
Natural matte quartz has a soft, frosted look. Tumbled and polished finishes bring out the translucency and give a smooth, glossy surface. Polished is usually specified for interiors and water features.
Size and application
8–12 mm suits aquariums, terrariums and small planters. 10–20 mm and 20–40 mm work for water features, larger planters and decorative bowls. The smaller the size, the more the translucency shows across the surface.
Retail packing
Crystal pebbles sell well in small premium packs: glass jars, mesh pouches and printed 1–5 kg bags. The visual appeal justifies a higher retail price than standard white pebbles.
Aquarium use
White quartz is inert and safe for most freshwater aquariums. Rinse before use to remove any packing dust. The smooth, rounded surface does not trap debris the way angular gravel can.

In fountains and cascades, polished crystal pebbles gleam when wet and stay clean-looking because the smooth surface does not hold algae as readily as rougher stone. Larger sizes resist pump suction better than fine gravel.
